Cancarb is the proud, title sponsor of The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour. This event is a major fundraising event for the Medicine Hat Public Library held in January of each year.

Cancarb is proud to sponsor Be Youth Centre. Be Youth provides a fun and safe environment that welcomes all youth aged 11-17 with free programming to try something new, meet friends and participate in the community all while enjoying social-recreational activities.
Cancarb sponsors the Kiwanis Southeast Alberta Science Fair with monetary and volunteer contributions. Supporting the next generation of innovative carbon black engineers and scientists!
Bridges Family Programs builds on strengths for the betterment of children, youth, families and the community, by providing information, family support and community connections allowing families to become resilient, self-reliant and realize their potential. In 2020 Cancarb matched Cancarb employees’ contributions to Bridges, raising more than $3400 for their programs.
In 2020 Cancarb seconded two student interns to the Food Bank for a period of 3 weeks to support them during the COVID crisis when many of their volunteers could not be as active as normal. The students were kept busy at the Food Bank helping them to keep the operation running, all the while maintaining the necessary social distancing protocols.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Medicine Hat and District
It’s a tradition for Cancarb to sponsor the annual report and board meeting of the local branch Big Brothers Big Sisters. And in 2020 Cancarb was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of Bowl for Kid’s Sake, the organization’s largest annual fundraiser.
The Mustard Seed is a safe and supportive place where people experiencing problems associated with poverty and homelessness can have their physical needs met in the short term, but also begin to heal and grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for a better life down the road.
In 2020 Cancarb matched Cancarb employees’ contributions to The Mustard Seed, raising awareness and more than $7100 for their programs.
Cancarb is pleased to regularly sponsor Halo, the only dedicated medical evacuation helicopter for southern Alberta and southwest Saskatchewan. Funded exclusively through corporate and private donations, the availability of this charitable group’s helicopter improves response time to trauma victims in our remote often inaccessible area.
